Why respect is important in society?
“To Respect the Best”
Respect is an important part of our life. It is considered a great quality to respect someone. But the question arose in my mind that who should respect and whom be respected. Why respect is important in society and in relationships? I will try to explain this.
Respect is of three types according to me
(1) Simple respect
(2) Respect with fear
(3) Respect by heart
Every person is good or wants to be a good person. But can a person behave well to all people? The answer is no. A person tends to behave well with an unknown person, to his friend but not the one he didn’t like. Maybe the respect is to talk politely and gives a good smile and that’s it. But this respect has nothing to do with love etc. It means you are not affectionately attached to those people.
Why respect is important in society and in relationships?
This kind of person may or may not help the respected person (object) in a difficult time but he tends to help him but truly he didn’t. In our society majority of people belongs to this category of people who often gives you simple respect and tends to help you in difficult times. Be aware of them!
Respect with fear!
Respect with fear is considered bad sometimes but it may open new doors for you. Mostly in our childhood firstly we respect some teachers because of their fear and rude attitude but after some time we realize that the teacher should be respected because of his goodness and passion for work. In villages, people also respect their Waderas and the rich people because of their fear.
This tradition is going to end in many villages nowadays. There is a thin line between real respect and fear, every one of us should understand it and do necessary corrections in our personalities.
Now, the most important type of respect. Respect the best. The main part of this kind of respect is that the person to be respected maybe your close friend, relative, maybe your opponent, enemy, and maybe the person you didn’t meet in your life. A person respects his parents by heart and his heart is also filled with their love. Because he thinks that his parents are probably the best people on earth, who love him so much and fulfill his needs etc. This kind of respect is true respect. Why respect is important in society?
To respect a best friend
A person may respect his best friend because of his character or any other quality by which his heart is filled with love for his friend. In this case, he wants to help him in difficult times, and when he listens to his friend’s name his heart will fill with joy, a sudden smile will appear on his face and he will start thinking about his friend. This is a really good type of respect.
It is difficult to respect your opponent or enemy but this kind of respect is true. I want to explain to you with examples.
Sultan Salah-ad-din Ayyubi (R.A)
One of the best people in the world the great Sultan Salah-ad-din Ayyubi (R.A) respects his opponent. After the win of Jerusalem from the crusaders, the Sultan was once on a battlefield when a spy came to him and told him about his brother who was also a great commander named Al- Adil that he loves King Richard’s sister. King Richard was king of Great Britain and wanted to take revenge on Muslims after conquering Jerusalem. Richard came in the winter season to fight Muslims. Once on a battlefield, he became ill and his doctors were not able to heal him. After listening to the spy the Sultan summoned his brother. When Al-Adil came in front of Sultan. Sultan simply asked him who he loves Islam or Richard’s sister.
Al-Adil replied both. So Sultan said will she leave Christianity to enter Islam. Al-Adil replied that tonight at someplace we shall meet and I will ask her about this. Al-Adil told the Sultan about the place. At night Sultan alone with his doctor came from his tent and moved to another side of the battlefield. After traveling some distance he saw a lady was stood down the muddy hills.
The lady became frightened, Sultan asked him that
” you are waiting for Al-Adil, I am his brother Salah-ad-din Ayyubi. Don’t be frightened, I don’t know your language so just take me to your brother”.
After some time Sultan entered the tent of King Richard, his opponent, his worst enemy, when Richard saw Sultan he was just amazed he questioned Sultan why he is here? The Sultan gave him an epic reply that “Richards you are a good and strong person but your doctors became helpless same as your armies in our land, this is my personal doctor who will take care of you till you become healthy. Richard replied that Salah-ad-din you are a great person who didn’t fight for his own benefit but for Islam.
The Sultan came back. This is a great example of respect your enemy if he is best.
My life example!
Now I want to give an example of my own life. As we all love cricket. I am also very attached to cricket. Firstly I didn’t like a cricketer because he was from another country. But after reading his biography and listening to his interviews I turned my mind and started to believe that he is the best player because he did this all with his own hard work. He is as amazing that the great Sir Viv Richards likes him and considered him the best player and cricket team also mentioned him in teams of the decade and he also wins the best player of the decade award and his performance proved that he is a great player.
Now I realize that it the one who is best in his field with his own hard work and struggle whether you personally like him or not. So I request you to respect everyone and work together for peace, love, and harmony.
