Ertugrul Ghazi:

Ertugrul was the 3rd son of Hayme Hatun and Suleyman Shah. He was the father of Gündüz Alp, Savci Bey, and Osman Gazi I, who was the founder of the Ottoman Empire. After the death of his father, he directed a portion of the tribe to the western borders of the Seljuk Sultanate of Rum and recognized himself as the Bey of his own Kayi tribe. Later he became a senior officer of Sultan Alaeddin Kayqubad I.

He inhabited Hanli Pazar which is a public market. And received the title of “Uç Bey” (margrave or Principality Bey) of the westernmost emirates of the sultanate. As an Uç Bey, he dominated Karaçahisar Castle. He was the only major bey to not be dishonored by the Mongols, which leads to his head being a target for Mongol and Seljuk operators.

Halime Sultan:

She was the wife and love of Ertuğrul. Halime Sultan was the mother of Gündüz Alp, Savci Bey, and Osman Gazi I, who was the founder of the Ottoman Empire. She was the daughter of Shahzad Numan who was a member of the Royal family as well as a niece to Sultan Alaeddin Kayqubad I of the Seljuk Sultanate of Rûm. Halime became the headmistress of the Kayı tribe after Ertuğrul became the frontrunner of the Kayı. She fought alongside many enemies along with her husband.

Halime Sultan was very loyal to her husband and his foundation. She was very brave and often fought along with her family in order to defend her tribe. She dies shortly after giving birth to his son Osman.
